Comments:  With the rain during the week that is likely to extend into tomorrow we are going to play reasonably safe at Belmont this weekend, and again we will be looking for the winners to come from a handy position or better. Saint Bro looks the pick of the day – would have strung a couple together already this prep if it hadn’t come up against the very classy Cool Trade, and with conditions to suit we should see it roll to the front again and be very hard to chase down. The Dylan Thomas 4yo Gladstone was extremely unlucky the other week after missing the start and blowing its chances – it still managed to get within <2 lengths of the winner after being blocked for a clear passage – if it repeats its third up effort when last in work it will be terribly hard to beat in the last, while I’m prepared to go out on a limb with long-shot It’s A Merc in the sixth – drawn well in a very open race and I’m always very weary of front runners who elect to race first up without a trial – definitely not the worst, and the $21 is worth a look.

Multi: Oh so close last week – maybe one leg too many in hindsight – back to three here: Cuanzo ($1.95) into Saint Bro ($2.20) into Gladstone ($5.00) = $21.45

OZ Racing: No runners at Belmont this weekend.
