One more sleep before our French galloper Au Revoir tackles the $6.2 million Group 1 Melbourne Cup. It is surreal to think we have a runner in this World renowned staying event.
Unfortunately, we have drawn barrier 23 of 24 which is going to make it very difficult for him. He will have to go forward from his gate and hope that Glyn Schofield can slot him in somewhere forward with cover before they leave the straight the first time.
This horse is by Singspiel, one of the World’s best stayer producing stallions. He has already been tested at 3000 metres in France, running fourth beaten less than a length in a Group 3 race so we think he will run out the distance.
Our partners at OTI Racing have four horses in the race, which is an amazing achievement – Au Revoir, Brambles, Gatewood and Lidari. If Au Revoir doesn’t win we do hope one of the other OTI horses can do it.
